I just remixed this using my new Lexicon plugins (summer sale). I just used some presets, there's a lot to choose from for each effect/reverb. I'm really having fun trying them all out and they sound pretty good to me. It's going to take me some time to explore it all. Let me know what you think....
Leavin It All Behind 20140608 (Lex Plugs) - Hamilton Steele

The miz sounds "clearer" somehow compared to my memory of the last version.

Thanks for the listen Ray - these reverbs are pretty clean and I'm doing the standard - apply until you hear the reverb then back it off a touch. They seem to color without being washed out.

Got a little Moon Dance vibe going to it. Nice tune. Really clean sound and some nice playing going on there.

I got a Moondance vibe too. Cool song.

I think the low end might be a little too strong. Kick and bass, to me, are just a bit too loud. The bass has a low end frequency that I think needs to be tamed. There are notes here and there that jump out a bit.

I'd like a little more crispness in the vocal. There is a little low mid cloudiness to it.

Drum overheads might benefit from a little boost. Snare and kick cut through just fine. But I'm not getting enough sizzle from the cymbals.

Thanks David - appreciate the listen and glad you like it!

Sounds pretty good. I 100% agree with all of TripM's comments.

Thanks for the comments TripleM / Greg - it's great to get advice like this on mixes - I'll give this another listen tomorrow and try and resolve these items...

I also love the Lexicon plug ins. They are great. I like what you have here. I agree with what has been said and I would add that if you have not tried the BBE pug ins you should. The sonic maximizer can help with any cloudiness that you may be experiencing
