Beatz for the Streetz
Man I have been so intrigued with the idea of making my PC a sampler/Beat Machine but when I look into actually trying to make the switch it is so complicated....

I have to learn a new sequencer...
and I have to learn the dam new sampler (Reason, Fruity Loops etc..)

I was trying to work with Reason 1.0 and I been having the biggest problem switching between midi channels creating sequences...

Fruity loops to me want you just to use the step editor and all of the tracks have to be the same bar length (maybe I am wrong)

I mean I can get a beat made with Fruity loops but is just feels mad awkward...

Man you can't teach a old dog new tricks in a reasonable amount of time...

I gonna have to stick to my Studio Vision (OPCODE out of business) Sample Cell and my trusty S2000....

What are you thoughts if any.....

Hey Rat!

I'm a not so long-time reason user and I know everything of Reason... The secret is to read the manual... Yes! The friggin' manual! It is 205 pages but it is made for the beginner. Real easy to understand... Yes, 205 pages may seem long (Especially if you don't like reading) but it is the only way to know reason. When you have finished reading the manual, you will know everything, for sure.

I firmly believe you can achieve the same results with Reason as with any other sampler (Huhhh... This sentence is wEiRd!) You just have to know how to use it.

Also, you're not stock with the lenghts of your patterns as with FruityLoops (This one too is wEiRd!)

One luv,

Yo, I feel ya Rat. I've been moving samples to and from my computer and even this just hasn't been cutting it. So i've been trying to get into some software samplers and synths. I still can't call it though. Software has some strong points but ease of use doesn't seem to be one of em. At least not for me. The easy loading and storage of samples and settings on software is dope. Editing sounds is better and you get way more options when using software. That's about all i can really see as being a real plus over hardware. Anyway i'm still hooking my MPC up as a controller for Sonar and Battery tonight. I'm hoping this is going to work out good cuz nothing else has. I'm also getting Reason cuz i heard some dyn-o-mite tracks cats made on it. Including the jointz by Beathovan. But hardware seems to be the best at just digging in an knocking out some tight tracks.

You are not alone bruh. Remeber, you always got the hardware.

If it ain't broke don't fix it.

No diggs Lazi.. If it aint broke don't fix it....
But you got to have some foresight into the future...
And for me it would make made sense to learn something like Reason.... I am so handy with PC's it a no brainer for me to eventually migrate... Only thing is I will be like a rookie again....

Thanks for da 2 cents....

Rat
