Hi all, I am a flamenco solo guitarist and am going into my third year of flamenco guitar. As you may know, flamenco guitar is very hard to play technically, so I do a lot of recording to monitor my progress.

I record on a Boss BR-8 digital recorder and then transfer the zip disk to my computer, conver the disk file to a .wav file and then if I like what I recorded, I will burn it on a CD.

My question to this forum is, how do I go about learning how to "massage" or mix, or cut and paste or remove a note or two from my .wav file.?

I want to do this on my computer and have actually downloaded some music demo mixing software but I can't make heads or tails of how to start! I would like to edit some of my music so I can get a better sound, if that's possible.

Is there any correspondence schools, or computer software that I can actually comprehend to accomplish this?

The sound recording software that I have tried looks very impressive, but I don't know to do squat with it!!

Any help would be appreciated!

friends in music,

Merle, editing, like playing guitar, takes time to learn and a bit of skill to do it well. What are you using?

Ntracks or CoolEditPro are pretty easy to learn and use.

Track Rat and Texas Road Kill, thanks for replying. Right now I don't have anything but some demo software from tucows and I don't remember what they are, I'm not at home.

But, I record only 2 tracks on the BR-8 and both track are the guitar solo only. Later I would like to be able to overdubb and add some hand claps and percussion of sorts, but, I would not really exceed 3 or 4 tracks.

I just don't know how to start or what to do! I purchased some software and later when I get home I will tell you what it is, but, the documentation that came with it confuses me even more!

I want to simply listen to a .wav file, edit it and add or remove a portion or a note, adjust the sound, and kind of make it sound more professionally than just a raw recording.

Some of this I can do with the BR-8 but I think it is cumbersome, and there must be software that I could use to let the computer do all the work!! ;>)

Yea, I have listened to some demo songs and watched as all the waves scrolled from left to right on the computer screen, but how or what can I do with this?

I'm totally new and starting to try this stuff. I probably don't need real sophiscated sortware, just some good software with a good on-line tutorial that will teach me how to manipulate the .wav file, resave it to my liking, and then burn a CD.

Hi all, the software that I purchased is Music Studio Generation 6 by Magix. I can't make heads or tails out of it!

Any suggestions?
