I'm looking for a "lead" synth to play along with this computer dj thing I'm trying to develop. I don't plan on doing much midi work. I'd like to use it for adding improvised basslines, and fills while I'm mixing. All looping will be done on the computer, so the synth doesn't necessarily need a sampler or a sequencer.

I guess I'm most interested in great sounds with lots of on-the-fly tweakability. I want both warm round sounds on the top end and also those growling bass notes you hear in a lot of D&B.

Any suggestions? I've attached a few examples.

Thanks,
barefoot

CS1x

I've got a CS1x which is decent for lead work. It also has assignable knobs for tweaking on the fly. Excellent bang for the buck.

The Access Virus b or indigo will most differently do the job.
The sounds are the best you will ever hear, good for Trance, D n Bass , Techno and much more!
