Hey guys....
I've been using CEP2.1 for a while now and havehad good results using my Echo Layla sound card/interface. My question is this....
Supposingly the layla has 8inputs/8outputs. However, when I go to select which channel/inputs I want to record in CEP, I can only select the channels in pairs. For example....

Track 1
I can select Layla20 1-2 or Layla20 3-4, Layla20 5-6, and/or Layla20 7-8. But I cannot select just channel 1. I'm trying to record drums and up till now I have not needed any more seperate inputs that the 4 it's provided. Is there anyway I can seperate these inputs and put them on seperate tracks?

Thanks...I hope that was clear enough. hehe

Sounds like CEP only records in stereo. I have no experience with it, but I would assume it has an option to split a stereo track into 2 mono tracks.

Go to Options/Settings/Multitrack and see if the default in the middle on the right is set to "Stereo". If so, reset it to "Mono". You should then be able to record 2 discrete tracks.

Thanks for the tips...
I changed the default to mono from stereo, however I still cannot choose between channel in 1 or 2. Just 1-2 together as a stereo pair. This is the same for my echo Mia card. It has two inputs....but I can't record two seperate tracks at the same time through CEP2.1 because it will only allow me to select Mia 1-2 as a stereo channel. ?? I'm at a loss here. =( Any other tips would be greatly appreciated. =)

Try selecting 1L for the first track's recording source and 1R for the second's. That's how I record 2 mono channels.

The Delta 66 presents itself in SONAR as 1/2 and 3/4 stereo pairs, but I can select just the right or left side of each pair when recording a mono track. I have Cool Edit 2000, and I see the same thing you're describing -- I can select a pair of inputs. But when I select to record a Mono track, I get whatever's coming in on the one side. I'm not sure if this is the two inputs (one with no signal) summed to mono or what.

Hmm. That may do it! I'll give that a shot tonight. Thanks =)
