What creates a Layer?

Where are you from?

What planet?

Is the source is what may be the why is working?

How to layer is create by multiple of playing parts of the same and to mix with differently volumes, reverbs, and delays.

I figured out the secret...you have to phrase your answer the way he phrases the question.

- Recording one part multiple times to capture minor detail differences to fatten up the sound.

How to create a Layered Mix by Duplicating tracks?

- Not possible. Duplicating tracks will do nothing more than up your level by 3db.

How to Create Layers by using signal splitters ?

- Not possible. Same thing as duplicating tracks. It is the minor differences in the layer that you want.

How to Create Layers by Copying tracks the signal ?

- Same as the above two. Will not help you.

What creates a Layer?

- Tracking a part twice or more.

Good luck mate.

Can you guys talk more about layer please?

How did you reach this conclusion?

What makes you think each repeat is on a different track?

How is a delay layered?

Are you making any sense?

Because when you hear it it sounds discrete and layered

how do i do this with my guitar or vocals ?

How do i really LAYER alot what are the tricks?

Aren't you the same one that wanted the wall of sound but likes the 7th generation of an analog tape? I doubt you'd be able to hear the layer after all that :D

I want to really Layer the single audio source how do i do this?

and make the each layer discrete? how do i do this?

i think in order to do what your trying to do all you have to really do i think is that you should probably just "smear" your audio sourcee and then i think maybe you should try and kind of just layer it its all you ahve to do is just layer the smearing and the milky compression and then youll get that great multi-track sound, which will sound really layered....and smeared.....and milky....and multi-tracked...and then run it all through an analog creamy milky buttery smoothy compressor and you get it to sound like that How do i do this?

look, i'm sorry to say that you can't start from zero on a message board.
unfornite but true, you need at least a modicum of knowlege before
anyone can help you over the internet.

Absolutely NOT Possible. You HAVE to record every layer by itself. So grab your mic and start tracking!

Yep. If you track each part multiple times, each to a separate track, then mix them together, you'll have layers. Like an onion. A greasy, smeared, multitrack, layered, buttery, creamy, beefy, Spector-fied onion of sound.

Damn, I'm hungry all of a sudden.:D

Any tricks i can do for layering?

yea but layering tracks need to be mixed down to stereo at the end
so

That's why you need quite a few monitors. You spread them out and get a true stereo spectrum image of the multi-layer...

Yea but people only have 2 speakers for stereo so it wont work then

That's not the point! You need to see exactly how to make the people with 2 speakers seem like they are hearing all of the speakers you will be using with this technique.

That is the secret! Get it?

yea i know so how do i do this ?

Having more speaker monitors is not going to mixdown the speaker monitors

So what are you talking about ?
