ok, I was a bit bored tonight. I wanted to see how many guitars I could layer before the song fell apart. My vote is that it gets annoying at around 40 sec. I'm sure a less annoying guitar sound would have prevented this.

Fun experiment, lame outcome.

I don't think this gets annoying at all. Like you said, the tone you chose could have been a little better, but I like it. Although I tend to like lots of layered guitars, like explosions in the sky, mono, godspeed etc.

In my opinion, it was starting to get a bit heavy right at the end. It was almost too much but overall I actually thought it sounded pretty good. I've always liked layered guitars for the most part.

The layering and build up of guitar tracks worked very well IMO for what could perhaps be the beginning of a decent rocker tune.

Boz,
layers can be very tastey & you've made the arrangement of each instrument interesting or different enough for them to be tastey.
Keep going.

hey, thanks for the comments. While I was screwing around when I was making this, the more I listened to it, the more I was getting ideas of how a real song could be made from it that I thought might sound kind of cool.

I'll probably tone it down a bit when I do the real thing, but it was fun to try out.

I think the outcome isn't lame at all. the guitars are in harmony and you keep the attention from the listener everytime you add a guitar. nice experiment.
