Does anyone have the AD10/DA10 or have used them before? Lately, I've been reading quite some goo stuff about these two converters. Any info is greatly appreciate.

Thanks:D

They're very nice and easy on the budget. Don't know what else to say. Didn't mess with them long enough to know anything other than they sounded fine.

Hey Massive Mastering, nice to have you respond to my thread. I was just over at your site a few days ago. Nice gears you have.:)

I noticed you on your gearlist you have the Lavry Blue 4496 and the Crane Song HEDD 192, how are they compared to each other? What are the pros and cons of one to the other? Hope to hear from you again.:D

I've got both, but I don't think my experience with them can lend to your decision-making process. I haven't had a chance to use the AD-10 yet and the DA-10 is all I have used since I started recording at home. I've got nothing else to compare to except my cheap firewire mixer which I won't even try to monitor through.

My problem with the AD-10 is getting it to fit into my workflow, which is killing me. I know the unit is the best thing out there, but I don't have the supporting equipment to take advantage of its potential. I've got crap mic's, crap pre's and as of recently, my room is untreated. I want to use it for tracking vocals and acoustic guitar, but I am not able to monitor through headphones with my set up.

Over on GearSlutz.com, you'll find some good discussions about the lavry Blacks where people have done some side by side testing with other high-end converters and Lavry always comes out on top.

Sorry i couldn't be more informative, but check out GS.

Cheers,

The Lavry seems more "accurate" (for lack of a better term). I generally use it for analog input (tape sources going straight to digital without any sort of worry about level). The HEDD is more... Colorable (if that's even a word)... "analog" - "musical" - and more friendly to excessive volume (on both ends), which unfortunately, comes in handy here and there.

If I were looking for a set for tracking, I'd go with the Lavry (assuming that I want to capture exactly what's happening). 2-buss work, the HEDD.
