Lava lamps

What is it with these suckers? God, when my engineer walked in, he looked around and asked "where's the Lava lamp?" Am I missing out on one of the great traditions? I couldn't think of any other forum to post this. Do they decrease RFI? What gives?-Richie

Best lava lamp story I have is when me and my band (jazz improv) were playing at some high school function, and this hippie band had these fuckin lava lamps all around. Well, our drummer was getting into the bass drum, and totally spilled one of these things all over the stage. Of course we didn't stop playing, and on tape it sounded like a natural lull in the music. So yea, lava lamps can provide an awesome groove, if used correctly.
