Yeah, I agree, not bad but it sounds like he's reading the pad. Use some compression on the final mix too. It may "blend" the sound together a little more too. Your on the right track though, I like the beats, they hot.

Yeah, practicing the lyrics a little more would definitely work. I think it'd help out your mix too. When you can tell it's being read, it loses feeling.

Yeah man i heard it. I like the lyrics and the beat. U need some heat in ur delivery and more emotions.

Check Cash and Run (me and my homeboy) out when you got the time:

When using compression do i have to use it b4 the mixdown? If i add it to track one and I have the mixdown in that track is it only being used on playback?

I use compression wherever or whenever needed. For example, if you have a bassline track and you need it punchier, you will notice if you eq that to your liking it will be too loud or too overpowering. Use the eq and compression to get it at the right level you need. Then you can add a little on the master out to blend them all together.

I was working with Q on a track the other day. I mixed down all the tracks using various compression and eq and other effects to get the tightest sound I could get with my monitors.

Here is a sample, let me know what you all think too. I wanted to post this for opinions but didn't get a chance yet, so here it is.

I'm still working some other stuff in this mix. It's not 100% yet, I will post the final when it's done.

Hope this helps. I would love to help you out some more if you want, just let me know if I can add anything to your project. This forum of producers has helped me out a ton and I will return the favor if I can.
