Latency????

Just got a midi controller an m audio radium 49 used at guitar center for 75 bucks. I plugged the midi cable into my tascam fw1082 (which is firewire) and im getting major latency problems any suggestions is it my computer? Does everyone have this doo I just have to deal? When the latency is not there its like such a relief thats why I need to get rid of it.

Latency

I suspect it could be your computer, make sure yue have a good soundcard and a good processor, I run a P4-3.4Gig with soundblaster card and have a latency of 2 millie seconds

if your sound card's driver software included any kind of configuration software, there might be a latency adjustment. sometimes these are set high by default, so people with crappy computers or slow hard drives dont compromise sound quality.
