Latency problems with Audiophile and Reason 1

I am running an Athlon 1800 with 256 ram. I have an Audiophile 2496 and am running Reason 1. I use a Midiman Oxygen Midi controler. When I go to record in Reason I have horiible latency problems. Is it the program or the card? also if I had more ram would that help? solution?

also does anyone know how to use the Matrix Sequencer in Reason. I can't figure it out.

Latency primarily depends on the drivers used. What OS and which version of drivers you're using?

I have some latency problems too when I record in reason with my el cheapo midi controller keyboard.
(Win98/SBLive! midi interface).
But I learned to live with it (for now). I'm not a great keyboard player anyway and quantizing does it for me.
Personally I think it is Reason because I never noticed this amount of latency in other midi software.
