Latency problem w/M-Audio

I have an M-Audio Fast Trak Ultra interface. When I try to record a simple guitar track I get a delay of almost one full second. I am new to the Reaper latency settings so I need some suggestions. I'm not even sure if it is the settings or an incompatability with the interface. Need help!

are you using that ASIO drivers for it? if so, go down low into the 256 or lower range. There are a few Fastrak users that show up in reaper chat, they may have some more tips for you
