So i buy a beefed up PC, an ADAT, a 12 channel mackie, a Dakota soundcard (16 optical inputs for the ADAT)
i make my drum loops w/ Fruityloops, put them in cool edit pro, and when i use my ADAT as a A/D converter to record directly to CE pro I discover latency makes my guitar drag ass by the end of the song. i need tips on monitoring the tru signal.
right now i send my guitar thru ADAT into dakota, but to listen to the drums on CE pro I use my PC's stock soundcard to listen to as i play/record guitar trax. if i record a short riff i am ok, but if i record a couple minutes it lags. can i get some monitoring tips out there? do i have to scrounge up more $$ in order to record direct onto CEpro and monitor accurately w/ no latency?
maybe if i went out of Dakota form the Optical out...? i need some knowledge here......apreicate some!
