forgot to say..I really cant kick this cold, I had to mix much of this with cans to even hear any detail but as far as i can tell it sounds like its translated OK??..fucking cold :(

This is like a mix between your older stuff and your new dumbstep style. :D.

Sounds good. I'm not crazy about the booming bass drop sound thing, but it's subtle, so it's not too hip-hoppy sounding. The mix sounds fine. Doesn't seem as spacey as your usual stuff, so it's quite as interesting as the other stuff, but it's short enough that it doesn't get boring. Not bad overall.

So you still gonna post while you're in yoo-rope?

thanks man..yeah its a bit to the point this one...but i cant have everything in the album sounding exactly the same, if it makes it on to it

Ill take a lappy with me, just have to buy an internet card thingy while Im there so Ill still be about...but with no tune making this place will be depressing

still loads of time to read tech books, which always helps me :)

will you miss me big fella?...the moonlight, the shared cans of mountain dew...the wank fests??? lol :D

We'll miss ya around here. This stuff is amazing, dude. If you made this song exactly how it is with a straight forward beat instead of the dub-step stuff, I think I'd be in love. The jerky-hoppy beat gives it an unpleasant feel to me, but it is what it is. Seriously... Straight-forward trance-type beat (maybe slowed down a bit, and extended 10 minutes), and this would be on my playlist.

Thanks for sharing! Really enjoy your stuff, Keith.

Thanks man, glad the mix is passing the test so far..I know what your saying, its that synth sound, stick a four on the floor beat at 135bpm and anything played with it sounds good

Have you ever heard Underworlds "Rez"? ancient tune but its still superb

thanks for listening mate, I feel this is the only place Im taking a vacation from...boooo! lol

Well, at least you are leaving us on a high note. This is one of your better ones! I didn't think the low end was out of control last night, so if you took more out, I'm not so sure that it's gonna bump the club like it should ;). I don't have the new mix on my monitors this time, I'm sure the low end is tame on most systems now. 'Big Bottom, big bottom, talk about mud flaps, my baby's got'em........

Its the same mix as you heard last night mate (thanks for listening to it) it is kinda tame, but this isnt a boom boom genre

well thats my excuse

Keith the vocals are a bit muffled...ah this isnt a clear vocal genre

lol

Its the part i cant hear right...when I get the sub loud enough for my fluey ears its blows the doors off..Ill prolly revist everything when I get back anyway and def before I start compiling the album

Cool noises. Sounds like it could have come off Fat of the Land. I like this one a lot

Cheers BH...funny thing is I was thinking Prodigy's "Voodoo People" when I made it...I used to go to the Social in Clerkenwell when the Chemical Brothers DJ'd and that was one of the best tunes they'd spin...Ill have to listen to it again to make sure I havent totly ripped it off but great if its in that vein

thanks for listening man :)

I like the 1/2 step stuff.
I think the mix is good - the bomb drop bass is subtle - (mixing so as not to offend Greg - hmm - Nah, I'm impressed taht he listened through - I take it your D&B evangelism took his soul too).
My one concern is that it's a wee bit SHORT!
My brain was getting jiggy wiv it & then it was over.
You're enjoying the new keyboard aren't you? Now you're going to desert it & head to Greymare & the Land of the Sleeting Heart.
You need to experience some more Blightly to feed that slightly jaundiced social justice, antiestablishmentarialism schtick that you do so well in your word play,
OH, & speaking of...what happened to the new vocal for your actually singing song?

It's as good as ever man, I'm impressed how you can seemingly knock these out at will with so much depth to the rhythm. I can hear the Underworld and Prodigy references - I listened before reading the comments and Leftfield were the band that came into my head first though.

The only thing that I'd change would be to take a little high end off the snare and as rayc says - make it longer!

Enjoy your time in Your Rope :)

Another great track, more focus on action in the mids on this rather than the bass like last one. All around excellent. I really do want to try a collab with you at some point. You've got the best skill using synths of anyone I know, by far. Great work! Have a good trip. Be Well.

Pete

I get what you mean by short...when doing my reearch on it (dons glasses) I get that most tracks are just over 3 mins....does mean that catchy sketches can become tracks without challenging the creativety too much as in this case...when I was producing those 6 or 7 minute tracks even I felt they went on a bit

the downside is i need a lot more to make an album...ah well

taking my video camera home for some urban decay...mind you Finchley is more like the middle class gone wild lol

Ill have a play with those snares (theres 4 of them) I know i was EQing a bit to get them to poke through..Thanks Rob

it reminds me of quite a lot...i think its the first main synth sound and the vocals..bit early Chemical Bros as well...more big beat than dubstep...i think thats why I like it so much, I loved that period of dance music

Thanks Pete! the mids arent intentional...im just finding it hard to mix just now, I think Ill give the sub a wee boost and tame the snares a bit today...that should do it

Yeah we have to collab at some point, your poptastic stuff on top of a growling bass would definitely work..Ive got Industrial Okie doing a vocal over a dubstep track just now so that'll be interesting I reckon

Thanks again bro...

Industrial cant get a feel for the song...he's tried a few times but it just wasnt working for him..

I think Ill take it with me and try laying some better vocals on it back home as Ive got a bif old empty house to shout about in...or i may ask joey as his bowiesque vocals would be a treat...I imagine the fellas at bit busy at the mo so Ill see what he says perhaps...

Maybe I could ask Greg to mix it? that would be an interesting collab idea

Hey - no new KC tunes for months  :( :( ?

Ah well...we will have to muddle through this Summer somehow. Will you be completely MIA during that time, or just no new music?

Anyway, this sounds fine to me mix-wise. A bit light on the low end for my taste, but it may be exactly as intended - not sure. A lot more dense than the last one and not as spacious, but certainly a fun, although short ride.

ill be busy for a while so prolly wont be around much...damn as this is the only music i listen to nowadays lol

i get what you mean by dense, its the word i couldnt think of..Ill revisit this today and see if i can clear it a little bit...then pack my shit up :)

thanks Pete
