i used to have a desktop, and i used the emu 0404 to connect my mixer. i had so tell my desktop to get a laptop (which i have now), but i can't connect my mixer because the emu 0404 is PCI. i was thinking of going USB, but i don't know what to get and how to set it up. any suggestions!

thank you!

edit: by the way, i have the yamaha mg10/2 mixer and i'm planning on getting a synth/midi

i change my mind. hehehehehehe...

i should just work with what i have. i have a rode nt1-a and a shure sm57. my church has a bunch of sm58's everywhere, so i can use those as well. i mostly record layer by layer individually. actually, come to think of it, my church has a humongous korg synthesizer!

anyway, i still need to get the usb thing so i can connect my mixer to my laptop. i'm planning on spending about $200 for the hardware. i don't have any software either, and i'm still looking into that. (cakewalk?)
