hey i need an interface to connect my laptop directly into a venue. im running programs such as reason 3.0, cubase. fruity loops. can someone refer me to something that is fair in price that is decent quality.

if you just need something smiple, good quality, and cheap, look at the presonus inspire 1932

im pretty sure im gonna get a macbook pro. so ill prob want a firewire interface. what do most professional musicians use? what about an interface to go into a amplifier?

well...i dunno about what professional musicians use

but the presonus firewire line[ inspire 1932, firebox, firepod, firestudio] has outs that will go into amplifiers, if you're talking about an interface from your laptop to an amp. the interface will serve both as mics to laptop and laptop to amps.

so how would i set that up to play reason out of through it?

well, lets just say you bought the firebox. The box would be connected to your laptop firewire connection. Then, from there are two quarter inch jacks in the back called your right and Left Main out. You'd use those to connect to your speakers, or whatever you need them to connect to.

For recording, I use the Presonus Inspire 1394. Works just fine for both the desktop at home, where I do the mixing and mastering. Also works just fine with the HP laptop when I record tracks away from home. About $200 US

For live sound (going into an amplifier, usually through a mixer) I use an M-Audio "Audio Buddy". Got mine, brand new, for $50 US
