I'm looking into buying a laptop to perform live electronic, sample based music using Ableton Live, and am looking at either a Sony Viao or Macbook Pro.

Macbook Pro
The main difference being I could get the Vaio for about half the price, but would it still perform as well as the Mac?
Any info would be appreciated.
(I also know I'll need an external interface, so any recommendations on those is welcome too!)
