it's true, the percussions at the start sound a bit loud but as the song progresses they seem to sink nicely in the mix. As usual your voice is haunting and the flute parts are great, not to mention your acoustic...beautiful song!

Cheers

In the intro, I feel an imbalance between the acoustic and the flute. i think both are panned to opposing sides leaving nothing in the middle. I couldn't figure out which to listen to with priority. It works when vox comes in. Maybe during the intro and flute solo break, you can pan the flute to the center and then find something else to fill in on the left side. just an opinion, though...

I agree with the others about the drum intro. Maybe just start the song with all instruments.

The song ends abruptly.

Nice arrangement. You have a nicely unique style, at least one less traveled, and you stay true to it. Very cool.

Cheers,

I'd reduce the perc. at the beginning.
Right after the first flute section the acoustic seems to drop quite rapidly - I'd do that a little more slowly.
I like the percussion.
I had a few thoughts about thicken the texture in a couple of places but that's silly - it has breathing space & should keep it.

Sounds good. I didn't mind the percussion at the beginning. I suppose it couldn't hurt to scale it back, but I don't think it's bad as is.

I think I heard some lip-smacking noises right before the flute first started?

The acoustic sounds like it was recorded from the output jack of the guitar...tsk tsk, lol.

Bump Bump. Ok the intro has to be cut. Any other comments? Some people love this song, some are indifferent. What say you?

the "clicking" in the perc sounds like too much high eq to me. i think if you shelf over 8k or so that will go away. could be wrong, i'm not mr. golden ears or anything.:o

the guitar does sound a bit one-dimensional and naked. it doesn't seem to be blending in the mix.

as usual, i love the vox. excellent.

overall this track doesn't live up to the greatness of your others that i've critiqued here. but i don't think it'd be all that difficult (especially for you) to get it up to snuff.

your fan,
dross :D
