hey, i have 3 mics to use when i record my drums, but i wanna seperate my bass drum.. so what do i have to do ?

can i do the pan technique ??

like for my bass drum mic, il pan it hard left. then the snare and overhead, hard right.. then in Adobe Audition put it as 2 mono tracks ??

and how do i do that in AA ?

I don't know the exact answer, but I would think you might want to pan drums as they are in a kit. Bass, near center, and overheads, as a stereo track. I use DFHS, and it gives me individual mic's, and I try and pan them as a drummer would sit. If you pan teh Kick hard to one side, you will only hear it on that side. it should be pretty near center.
Just my thoughts.

If you have three mics you should have three Mono tracks in audition.

Are you saying you only have two inputs on your soundcard? If you are it might be time for an upgrade. As with only two inputs here you are extremely limited especially when it comes to recording drums.

Yes, if you pan the kick left and everything else right, you can set up mono tracks in audition. One will be the left input (the kick) the other will be the right.

yeah, i just use the Tape Out ->> Line In.. so i have a stereo track.

and i want to seperate the kick track so if i pan the kick hard left, cymbals and snare hard right. il have to seperate mono tracks right ?? which is Kick and Snare/Cymbals.

but will it still play in Center ?? since i have 2 mono tracks, left and right.. but i pan the left mono track to center and right to center. will both play in the center ?? cause all i want is to have control over the kick drum.
