hey
i read several threads about intel versus amd and noticed that apparently the KT133 chipset has some problems and that the KT133A is better. Well I just got a new computer and I have the KT133. Can anyone confirm this information? Should I change it for the KT133A ?

hyvvää päivää

I Think it's more of a compatibility problem with certain soundcards and the chipset... So depends on which soundcard your using... I've consulted 3 manufactures Terratec, midiman and ECHO and they are all like:"it might work, but some have had major problems"... The latest was ECHO that said the chipset KT-133 is not a problem for them but abit motheboards are or could be....

so I'm puzzled with this AMD/motherboard/chipset/soundcard problem...

I think I'm buying the ECHO MIA card but I would like to know what kind of motherboard should I buy for card???

kyllä käy jo pikku hiljaa tää vääntö vituttamaan.

My ASUS A7V / KT133 runs 2 Delta 1010's and is very stable. I've run 24 tracks @ 24/96 all with 3 plug-ins each with no problems. Dedicated hard drive and basic DAW fine tuning is all I had to do. Good luck!

Do a search on "VIA" and "AMD" going back a few months and you will find plenty of opinion.

joo tiiän tunteen

It turns out, I apparently have the KT 133A chipset after all.. The guy at the store didn't know why for example SiSoft Sandra showed that it was 133 even though it wasn't. Whatever.
