Hello all,

first post. I got the V6's about a week ago and have been loving them, and after working out some initial hum/grounding issues, I'm left with an annoying hiss/buzz that is faintly audible (ie sitting 3-4 ft away) even when the monitors are just powered on, no other connections. I've tried every outlet in my apartment, with other appliances on and off... my last resort is to test them out at my relatives' homes, and see if it really is some wacky electrical problem (though at this point I doubt it).

I wonder if I got defective monitors, or is this a known problem with the V6s? (series 2 btw). I've read that active monitors in general are more noisy, but is this typical?

I mix at relatively low volumes because I live in an apartment. And, the hiss is distracting when I'm soloing "delicate" VSTs etc. I still have time to take them back, and am just wondering if this is normal and I'm noise-spoiled, or if I really should get that refund...

Thanks!

I own a pair of series one V6's and the only time i have hum is when i turn my interface off, and theyre just running, with cables in, and no source.
A slight hum.
But if i click on the digi 002 . Theres no more hum.
You said that you have them plugged into nothing (except the power cable) and thyre still humming??
Im not sure what to say about that one.
great monitors though.

I am having the exact same problem, but I guess we just have to live with it :(

But the strange thing is that the hiss volume is lower when I take the cables out. So it could also be the cable, but I already use high end cables.
