Hello all,
first post. I got the V6's about a week ago and have been loving them, and after working out some initial hum/grounding issues, I'm left with an annoying hiss/buzz that is faintly audible (ie sitting 3-4 ft away) even when the monitors are just powered on, no other connections. I've tried every outlet in my apartment, with other appliances on and off... my last resort is to test them out at my relatives' homes, and see if it really is some wacky electrical problem (though at this point I doubt it).
I wonder if I got defective monitors, or is this a known problem with the V6s? (series 2 btw). I've read that active monitors in general are more noisy, but is this typical?
I mix at relatively low volumes because I live in an apartment. And, the hiss is distracting when I'm soloing "delicate" VSTs etc. I still have time to take them back, and am just wondering if this is normal and I'm noise-spoiled, or if I really should get that refund...
Thanks!
