KRK Rokit 5 alternatives???

I am trying to get a little home setup back going again and have been interested in these monitors. However, I am back in school now and money is really tight and I want to make sure that I'm getting the best bang for the buck. Is there any other brand that has a comparable model for less price? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

The KRK 5's are really really nice, you cant go wrong. See if your local Guitar Center has some used ones

Yamaha HS50 is an alternative but they may be a little more expensive...also M Audio have 5" BX nearfields as well I think, but the KRKs are very popular

truth is you wont really notice that much difference, youll get used to what you are monitoring on and at this price range they'll all be pretty similar
