Hello everyone! It´s been a while since the last time...
Does anyone know how to achieve that Korn Bass sound (or similar). The point is that we love that kind of fat-detuned-loose string-bright-subtle sound (phew! describing THAT was a heavy mind effort for me -great sounds can´t be explained mostly-).
If any of you, smart kids out there, know the formula (and want to share it), please help us!!

Tanx everyone!

Merry Xmas...

...and a great sounding new year (or new ear?).

How about a loosely tuned 5-string with lot's of effects pedals? Sorry, that's about as much as I can help.

I would search the web for Fieldy's pedal-guitar-amp-effect setup, I'm sure there are several sites with that info.

Detune a 5 string bass by one whole step (A,D,G,C,F) and you are most of the way there... seems to be the fat detuned bass sound with a bright back-kick from the strings rattling against the frets slightly......

Yeah I would think that EQing the mid range out would give it a tighter sound too.

Well, to get that korny-bass sound I suggest simply detuning your bass a bit. I'm pretty sure what's-his-name plays a five string detuned one step down. This should result in very loose strings that create a rattley, more percussive sound when played.
