ok i use a korg x5d hooked up into a sound blaster audigy 2 zs platinum edition with the front hook up.i have two midi cords hooked from the output of the keyboard to the input of the audigy two and from the intput of the korg to the output of the audigy2. im running cakewalk hs 9 and it is not recognizing the input of the keyboard and will not even recognize that anything is being played on the keyboard let alone even let me record

im new at this and it would be very helpful if someone could lend a hand :)

I'm assuming you at least know that you are not going to get any audio out of the MIDI connections right?!?!? MIDI is data only, and in order to hear the audio from the Korg you need to have the audio outputs of the X5D plugged into the Audigy, as well. But assuming you are simply not recieving MIDI, make sure first you are using a MIDI track in HS9, and not an Audio track. In the panel for the MIDI track in HS9, select the Audigy's MIDI In's and Out's in the respective MIDI I/O boxes, and be sure that the channel setting in HS9 matches the settings on the X5D (Usually Ch1 or OMNI, or Ch 10 for percussion tracks, the other channels can be used too however as long as they match the current settings for the X5D).
