Hi I demo the sv2 the other day and as expected the strings were quite organic and natural. I felt I could do something with those . the pianos however felt somewhat underwhelming . thin woolly and lacking stereo field . has anyone come across alternatives. basically looking for traditional type sounds at high quality

Hello maxman65,

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the sounds of the SV2, especially the strings. The pianos are a bit thinner than some other instruments, but they're still very playable and sound good in a mix. I haven't had any issues finding good piano sounds in other keyboards, but it really depends on what you're looking for. Some people prefer a very warm, mellow tone while others might prefer a brighter sound. I would recommend doing some more research and trying out different keyboards to see what suits your taste the best.
