Hi everyone ! I'm new in this forum for a specific reason. I'm a vintage synth reparator based in Paris and a music producer since 10 years. Once i restored a Korg PE-1000, i was amazed by the sound of this machine. For me it's not really a Synth, not really a String Machine, a mixture of both that give a very warm and musical sound, like an electronic instrument. I purchased it a month ago and I had an idea. I really want to make a faithful VST emulation of this one. Because I never heard something that can sound like it, and there is absolutely no emulation available. the only product i found in relation to is the UVI String Machine 2 and the great emulation of Full Bucket Music, but it's the PE-2000, and not the PE-1000 (every music producer know how big the difference can be ). So I'm wondering if it will worth it ? Is it the kind of product you can show interest for or is it just a crazy project in my head ? For the little story, the PE-1000 is pretty rare, it's the first polyphonic synth released by Korg in 1976, actually it's not a real polyphonic but a paraphonic machine, like one oscilator per note and a global filter (the famous Korg traveler filter). One specification that distinguishes it of other string machines is the manual mode, with the choice of waveforms with, of course, its powerful phase shifter/chorus effect. A classic one for me.
Any tips or opinion from you guys will be appreciate ! I'm excited by the idea of talking with you about it !
