I'm a guitar player, but I use a Korg N-364 to do string arrangements. I have no experience with sequencers.

Is there a better source of info on how to operate this marvelous machine (OTHER THAN THE MANUAL) . It sucks.

The manual is GREEK to me.

You know, like "Korg N-365 For No Load Idiot Guitar Player Keyboard Wannabes"

thanks, cj

I have a N264 and after three years I just found out how get past preset 1.

I am pretty damn familiar with the N364 and I use the strings on it alot.
The manual does suck major ass! :)

What exactly do you want to do?

I really use it with a computer and MIDI but I do know most of the workings of the workstation

Thanks for the input. Here's a run down of where I'm out.

For instance this is what I wrote down as the steps to record 1 track on the sequencer:

Press: [SEQ]
Press: Function 1 (free space)
" func 8
Select, new song (up/down) or slider
Press: EDIT (base resol.)
Press: [SEQ]
" func 2 - Select track
Metronome on/off func 6
Record w/quantize (func 5)
Press: [Rec/Write]
Press: func 4 (set tempo & time sig)
Press Func 7 - Move cursor to rec mode OVWR
Press: Start/Stop

That's just to record 1 track, not to mention editing. I can handle the record functions, although everytime I use the quantize feature I get some (weird hick-ups) in the sound that I couldn't possibly explain. (Probably because in part, I have terrible rhythym.

* What would help a lot is to know some short cut in editting, and punch-in/out. Maybe some tricks of the trade you have learned to make life easier on the N-364. I'd love to get where I can record 6 or 7 tracks on the sequencer and be able to edit them easily.

Thanks,\
cj

Ok it has been a while since I used it stand alone, I usually do everything with the puter. I will go home tonight and see if I can steer you in the right direction.
