I'm trying to get information on the KP2. I read a user review of the original Kaoss Pad, which talked about an auto-sampling feature that aloud the user to spontaneously slowdown, rewind, or "stutter" the music. None of the product reviews I've read of the original Kaoss or the KP2 have talked specifically about this feature, although they have mentioned the sampling capabilities more generally. Does anyone know if the KP2 has this ability as well, and if there have been any changes or improvements of this feature? Does anyone know of another FX unit that accomplishes this?

I waited a few days to see if anyone else could answer this question for you better than I could, but seeing there haven't been any other replies, I'll do the best I can. I own a KP-2, it has a slicer effect that chops the signal up as it passes through... it's sounds kinda cool, but in my opinion doesn't come close to what I think it is you're talking about. If what you mean is the kind of stuttering you hear on a lot of popular dance/trance/hip-hop/whatever music nowadays, I've got a feeling that kind of thing is done with software after the fact. The KP-2 will sample, and then you can run your samples through the effects, and it also is MIDI compatible so that you can tempo match your effects to the beat, but I confess I haven't used mine to this degree as yet so I don't know how well it works in this configuration. It looks like it ought to be able to do a pretty good approximation
of that kind of effect, I just haven't tried to do it since it's been
done to death already. If there's anything else I can do to help, let me know.
