I'm looking to buy a digital recorder. Does anyone have any views on the Korg D888 8 track recorder ? My main concern apart from overall recording quality is wether I can record drums onto seven tracks and then easily bounce them to one track.

no problem bouncing tracks. I really like my D888 especially that it has 8 direct outs for going into another mixer...biggest drawback is no effects/send /return set ups. The internal reverb/echo effects are of good quality..

very simple to operate, good manual, no problems so far for me and am happy all around. the writing on the unit for faders/pan/eq/ewtc., is difficult to see without some kind of outboard illumination.

Got mine for 599 from GC. Only other limit as I dont use the cubase software editing is 8 tracks. get used to bouncing if you mix down to something other than computer software.

great bang for the buck but 8 tracks get eaten up especially with drums unless you bounce. the internal bounce with it works fine and you can do it all within the korg except for cd burning as it comes without a burner.

my next step up down the road is the korg d-3200, but i can live with the d888 forever.

Thanks Clevodrummer, looks like you're doing what I'm trying to do. Nice to know I'm on the right lines.
