I have a Korg 1200MKII and in my opinion Korg is tops. I have used Zoom, Boss, computer software and I think their recorders are great. A good friend of mine owns a recording studio. He told me on several occassions to buy a Korg to use as a stand alone recorder. I didn't listen to him and kept buying what everyone else suggested and from reading reviews. Finally three years later and a lot of headaches I decided to get a Korg. I have no regrets at all. In 24bit mode it is incredible. The software in the machine is fantastic. I know that everyone has their preference. And yes they have a great forum too. The Moderator will answer your questions without any grumbling and he knows his stuff too. If I would ever update in the future I will continue to buy Korg. And one more note, both of the Boss units I purchased had break downs and were returned, the Zoom unit was a toy. I have had no problems with my 1200MK what so ever.

I have had a D1200 and a D1600 and enjoyed each lots. They have very limited midi capabilities but are good solid HDD recorders
