I'm looking into buying the Korg D-16. Does anyone have a review to offer on this machine? Also interested in specifics on the recording line out capabilities. The Korg specs page says it will record out to either DAT or MD via the digital optic line. And it says recording out to CD-R goes through the SCSI. Will the D-16 also record out via the S/PDIF to a stand-alone CD-R (ie the pioneer or philips models?).

I purchased a D16 just under 2 weeks ago, and although I'm still learning my way around the machine, I think it's great!
To answer your question, you can use the RCA analog outputs to any source that has analog ins, and can use the SPDIF outs to the pioneer deck. I have a pioneer CD burner, but can't find my spdif cables, so I burned a couple of rough mixes using the analog ins/outs, and they seemed to work just fine. I haven't tried to burn or backup from the SCSI output yet, but the manual makes it look fairly easy.
