Well is sorta makes sense: most studios do have bathrooms and we all "need to go" don't we? :(

Most people don't realize Kohler stuff bought after 1997 is guaranteed forever to the original owner. The phone call, the delivery and the parts are all free.

I had a Kohler faucet in my bathroom sink that stuck and the faucet in my bathroom broke. So I sent them pics with no receipts. They are sending replacements for free. :)

They said my kitchen faucet was actually made before the 1997 rule came into effect but they are sending me a new one free anyways. Wow! :)

What a great company!!!

I had a Delta shower faucet and the cartridge broke after a year. The part was $50 so I threw it away and bought a Kohler. In the long run it's the cheapest stuff.

If you're not the original owner? I've heard bad things about the durability of Kohler faucets.

The problem is, unlike most other brands, you can't just pop down to the hardware store and pick up a rebuild kit for a Kohler faucet. They don't license their parts out to Brasscraft or what have you. You have to get Kohler parts from a licensed Kohler dealer, or straight from the company.

No Kohler dealers locally? You get your faucet fixed in a week rather than in a couple hours. That's a problem if you've only got the one bathroom and your shower is leaking. Especially if you don't have shutoff valves for the tub/shower or lack access to them without tearing apart a wall.

Moen parts are more common, and they're much cheaper if you get them from a non-oem source like Brasscraft.

I've been pretty lucky with them. The kitchen one lasted approx 15 years and then they gave me a free new one. The faucets in the bathroom lasted 10+ years and then with a free phone call I got free replacements parts delivered for free. Hard to argue with that.

The outdoor Kohler faucet I have worked for about 10 years and then needed parts I got for free.

It's pretty easy to see how I'm eager to give them free plugs. :) But I can see your point as Delta and Moen parts are easy to find at regular stores but there's a big plumbing store in town here that sells Kohler parts.
