How would get a guitar tone like the one in Rolling Stones - Can´t you hear me knocking, or like the one at the end of Queen - We Will Rock You? I love the sound of the guitar in both of those songs.

For the Queen sound, use a Brian May Red special through a wall of VOX Amps. Cheap? No! Maybe you could get something close enough by using the Vox Tonelab.

But really, the killer thing about the guitars in "We will rock you" is all in the attitude of his playing.

Boogie

IMHO- The best all-around amp for these two sounds would be a Mesa Boogie Mark IV. You can easily dial in that Stones sound on Rhythm channel 2 and the Brian May sound is on the Lead channel with EQ. Depending on your pickups, you might also need a sustain pedal for the "Rock You" solo.

If you already have a tube amp you like, you can get the Fulltone FullDrive 2

to drive your amp into Stones territory
and then a Brian May Vox satellite

I have a Mark IV. It is supposedly THE most verstile amp.

Trust me, they are worth the money....
mine is out of commission right now, tho.....needs some fixing up.

I've checked out the Marhsall tube amps (on the rear panel), and there isn't much option back there.
On the Mark IV, you can adjust the way your tubes are set up and more. I've never seen a rear panel with so much to offer.

EDIT: wow. Just saw the rear end of a Mesa Boogie Road King head, and WOW!!!!!

I was obsessed with the guitar solo on We Will Rock You for a little while. I think I read somewhere that he used a fairly small amp to record that part. That's what it sounds like to me also. Just good old fashioned screaming overdrive, maybe the middle pickup, roll off the tone knob a little bit, and wail away. I always wanted to bring in a stack at basketball games back in highschool and play this solo when the pepband does the song. Woulda been glorious I'm sure
