Mixing and Mastering.
Who knows how to mix a song so that the kik and snare peask arent so big compared to the rest of the wave.
I have thought about it and the only thing i can think of is to use a frequency analysis on the kik track and the snare track to find where they occupy the most room of EQ (im thinking around the 5k mark roughly for the snare, not sure about the kik, maybe the same). Once you know the frequencys then take litlle bits of these frequencies out on the other tracks if it doesnt change the sound of these single instruments played in the whole mix.
Am i totally wrong? Someone please enlighten me with their knowledge on pro mixing.

No surprise having peeks on the kick & snare, that's why they invented compressors. :D

When mixing, stay away from the solo button! It's not how each instrument sounds individually but rather how they sound in the mix. You can have a bass sound like complete crap on its own but in the mix, its heaven.

And don't mix with your eyes! Let you ears be the judge.

Cheers all. I just used a limiter and it did the trick niceley. Volume of drums came down a little, but still sounds right to my ears. Will post the song. Look out for 13.
