undefinedHi gang...I feel like a kid in a candy store after findin' this forum! :p Ive been screwing around with my keyboards for awhile and want to get serious with some recording...
equip: korg M1, korg karma, dod 512 effects processor, 880 mic, peavy 300 mixer, p4 1.3 ghz with 256ram, 180 gig 7200 8 hd, lexicon omega interface with pro tracks plus ...now, my question...how the hell do I get this working together properly?!!! ...going to buy the idiots guide to recording and will read as much as possible, since the stuff i've read so far is just teaching me Chinese...how do I hook this stuff up properly is the main point...have some feedback at the moment and can't get the recording going...instruments sound great on their own though...thanks guys...
ps...go easy on me, i'm gettin friggin old and it's a little harder to pick up on all this electronic wizardry... ...and hurry, i'm puttin' the razor closer to my wrists the more I read on this stuff!

Where do I begin? First of all, WITH WHAT YOU HAVE, you can get the mic into the computer with the mixers preamplifiers. That board won't have phantom power so dynamic mics only. I'm not sure if the Peavey has inserts on the channel strips or not (my old MD-16 does) but that's where you'd want to grab signal to go to the sound cards LINE IN. If no inserts, you can send from one of the UNPOWERED mains outputs or an AUX send. Less than desirable be it will function. I wouldn't use the effects processor as you could probably come up with enough free directX plugs that are better. The instruments you could just patch from their line out to the soundcards LINE IN.

Thanx a lot Track Rat...that's a start...the mixer does have phantom power, along with the omega..
