Hello everybodies!

So you know that Kickport thing-a-ma-bob? Well I thought about shoving one of these bad boys in the reso instead.

Whadda you guys think? It looks cheaper and I'm willing to give it a shot.

Thanks!

You can use a kickport in your reso head or as a cup holder - either way it does the same thing.

Oooh, so it's multi-purpose? Neat!

Hey, if you think it will give my exhaust pipe a little more "oomph" to it, I'll buy an extra :D

I had a kickport...took it out after a year or so. While it sounded just a little beefier and more sustain with it, that was only useful when practicing alone or with the band without a mic on the kick. Good for live gigs with no mics on the drums. HOWEVER, I had a hell of a time wrangling in and tightening up my kick sound when I tried recording with it. Tons of flub and sustain which isn't too pretty in a kick close mic for a general rock tune.

This posed the same problems live when being mic'ed, and not only that, but it's hard as hell to really get a mic far enough in there. So what happens? The mic ends up only going far enough in, that it's only in the kickport and not all the way into the drum shell. This produces bad results, unless you can find a VERY flexible kick mic stand that will get your mic past it and IN the actual drum. Just a pain.

Use it at live shows when there are no mics and remove it when your ever putting a mic in there? Try it out. Good luck.
