It is much better than the last one! :D

Still nedds some punch and some depth - sounds kinda flat - especially the drums. Improving for sure, but not quite there IMHO.

Thanks! I'm glad it's getting better and not worse. :D

Sounding pretty good. I like the tune also. Pretty decent stuff. Like NL says, its a bit flat, or something, but not bad at all. Just needs a bit more work. I like it though man...

Haven't heard the previous mixes and I'm not too familiar with this style....
But I can still say I like the overall mix, everything sits well in the mix, chunky guitars and nice snappy snare. Can you share a bit of the guitar setup with us? Sounds good so far Chris....

Oh, this was a while ago... I know they were both through the same peavey 5150. I dno't remember the guitars, but I think one was a Gibson Les Paul.

One was miked up with a (left guitar) senn e609 and a d112 to capture the chug, the other (right guitar) was with an sm57 and the d112.

During mixing I used the d112 on the left guitar, but not for the right. The 57 was solid enough to stand alone where as the e609 sounded way too thin.

I bussed them together and used EQ on both of them at the same time. I want to eq them seperately but my uad-1 card was used up so I could only run one more instance, so that's how I did it. After EQ I have a L1 limiter with about 1db of limiting and that's about it.

Thanks everybody for your compliments.

As for the murky sound, I think I'll throw a pultec on the final mix and boost a db or two in the highs. I was playing around with this the other day and it seemed to open it up a little more, but I'm not sure if this is the same thing you're hearing.

Sounds good. Nice low end, but like others have said I'd like to hear quite a bit more high end on the whole thing. Also maybe some more bite from the guitars.

Good stuff
