Whenever I'm playing drums, my kick drum pedal makes these squeaking noises, how can I prevent this from happening?

okay you need to find out exactly whats causing the squeeking..is your pedal chain driven?...try listening to the pedal itself...it doesnt always help but you may be able to tell exactly where the noise comes from...what ever is causing it wil probably just need oiling regularly....its a common problem......and can be caused by thiings like the chain drive,the foot board,the springs,the bar across the pedal that holds the cam...the list goes on

The best kick squeak ever is in "Since I've been Loving You" by Zepellin. Normally that would bug me but somehow it actually sounds cool in that song.
