just wondering how to assign my different sounds (bass, drum, etc.) from my yamaha psr-160 portatone keyboard,to the different tracks in cubase vst.i record some bass, drums, and harmonies, then when i save it, and then go back into it to play, its a totally different sound that comes out,to the one i have recorded!!! if any one can make sense of what i mean and can help it would be very much appreciated. also (im new to this game,as you can see!) i have just a basic labtec verse-504 microphone that plugs into the back of my pc, and wondered how to get it to record into cubase vst, well if you have read this far and can help, i look forward to hearing from you.

Although I don't use Cubase, most recording software tools are similar. So, first you need to explore the drop down menus above the recording tracks. Look for audio recording options, or something like that. Chose your sound card. Then you will be able to use your mic to record. This whole software program has to be set up if you want to save a song. This means you have to tell Cubase that on track 1 play sound 17 on the keyboard ect.....

Good luck
