Hey everyone,

I've been using FL studio for quite a while now, but recently i was advised to try out Cubase.
FL had an option to dump a score / mp3 file into the piano roll, it wasnt accurate at all, but it could usually help with getting the basic key progression of a sample / song, and makes it easier to play things along with it...Here's a video of it:Convert Melody To Score & Dump To Piano Roll - Tutorial - - YouTube

I was thinking, is there a simmilar option in Cubase?

Thanks :)

You can generate midi off of music yes. BUT it has to be single line stuff, chords and the like don't work.

So in the video you posted, you could do it to the intro line but as soon as the drums and vocals kicked in it would go to shit.

I am aware of this - I used to do it on FL studio, but i cant find a way to do it with cubase...how would you do it in Cubase?

Do you have the full version? Only the full version has this feature IIRC.
