good stuff, that's all i got.
Hey there Ny...I apologize in advance, my feedback is probably not going to be very helpful b/c I'm ill-equipped as far as experience (and musical vocabulary go) to describe my opinion objectively...but here's my $.02
Cute song (I dig bluegrass). For me, it started out a little "thin"(???). I was just about to start feeling a tad negative towards the song but when the drum beat started at :13 it kept me engaged. So then the bass line began and more things started happening that were interesting. I liked the melody and harmonies were a nice subtle touch. My only criticism (and here's where I wish I knew how to express myself thoughts more effectively!) would be that the mix maybe seems a little blah or shallow? It would be nice if the overall sound was fuller(??), richer(??). Maybe my speakers just suck, lol?! but it seemed like I was listening to something being played on the AM radio in my old 1997 Datsun B-210. If my assessment is fair (which I am curious to see if anyone else feels the same way) then I wouldn't even know where to begin as far as a remedy.
Cool sounding voice too...kinda "Amos Lee/Ray LaMontagne meets Leon Russell/Dr. Hook".
I really liked this. It was great. I liked the song and I liked the sound.
Small nits...
I would have liked more harmony vocal and you could probably turn up the harmony vocal.
It sounded like the mando got just a bit out of tempo when it was playing lead around 1:25. Just for a quick second. Hardly noticable.
Great stuff.
Real nice honky tonk tune, pretty well recorded too.
The only thing I would do different is the way the bass is played. Why do you stop the notes? I would let them ring for a nice full sound. The only one you let ring is the very last note. Still very good though.![]()
