I'M BLESSED.......
I'm trying to settle a score. The argument is that Jamie Fox, who is singing the beginning of "Gold Digger" no doubt, is also the voice sampled that is played throughout the song. I say NO! It sounds like a completely different pitch to me, more like Ray himself......(I am aware that sampling often brings about a new pitch, that is what makes this argueable)I know he did sing the beginning, the words was a dead give-away (Oh, she's a triffling, friend indeed) I am not buying that it is his voice sampled throughout the song. Holler back with whatever. I'm a man of my word, I will pay for my lack of knowledge if need be, but I will collect in the event I am correct too........Oh, Don't Sleep!

I was about to post a similar thread when I first bought the cd. As far as I know, from reading reviews and stuff, it is Ray Charles in the background. But Mr. Foxx does sound a lot like him, so it's a possibility it's not. Maybe Jamie Foxx did it to save Kanye some money. But I would like to know for sure myself.

i saw some in studio thing with kanye.
i thinks it foxx.
he was in the booth recording those parts.
i could be wrong though, maybe foxx does some parts, and they sampled Ray for others.

yea i saw that too im pretty confident that it's jamie foxx on the whole track.

I think he sampled it...

I mean jamie does a good impression of ray and all but the timbres of the voices in the intro and the rest of the song are too differant.

Then I think about kanye and the way he samples with the voices and all...

The video may be a front he may have recorded blah blah blah doesn't mean he actually used it though...

I may have to grab the orignal ray charles album and relisten but I think it's Ray.
