OK, so awhile back we bought a bunch of sound gear from a ministry in a nearby town that went to a simpler system so volunteers could master it more easily. Among other things we wound up with their old Ramsa 24-channel board and a 20-in, 8-bus out recording mixer (no clue the brand), and a 24-channel snake.

I recently opened up a box and untangled a mess of cords from this equipment. There was some old no-name cardioid handheld (looked like a karaoke mic, but had been wired to an XLR end; first one I'd ever seen like that), and a Shure 55SW (which I need a cable for), and a Realistic lav. No clue if it's any good...gotta figure out what battery would go in it.

The point of my post (if it has one)is the JVC M-510 I found buried at the bottom of the box. I know nothing about this mic. What do I need to power it? (I assume from the shape of the mic that it's a condenser of some type, but I know nothing beyond that about it.) What would it be useful for? There is a Vocal/Music/Off three-position switch. I would presume the Vocal/Music switch would affect the sound pickup characteristics. If it's NOT useful in studio situations, what else might I use it for?

Does anyone HERE know anything about this microphone? Any info y'all can provide would be appreciated. Thanks!!
