JV-1080 - patch mode question

My manual seems to say that I can play patches in patch mode, but I get no sounds at all. I can play from performance mode with no problem, and in patch mode, the MIDI code is being received, the parameter light is off. What else should I be looking for?

in my jv1010 it dose the same i just use program

Maybe the MIDI channel that you play doesn't match the Global Channel setting?

And the correct answer is: the JV-1080 patch mode is set to channel one. I don't know if that is changeable, but no matter--thanks for the help.
