I just got my JV-1010 last night. So far, I'm able to play patches in Patch mode, but I'm completely lost in Performance mode.

Can someone tell me how the heck to do this?

Here's what I've been doing so far, let me know if I'm doing it right: I run my sequencing software (CakeProAudio9). Make a new project. Create a track, select the JV's corresponding MIDI port, and assign it a channel, let's use Channel 1 for this example. On the JV1010, I set it to "Perform", then I turn the "Part" knob to 1, and then use the Category/Bank and Value knobs to select a sound that I want. OK, so far so good. I do this for maybe 1 or 2 more tracks, but when I get to track 3 (assigned to Channel 3), there's silence. I press keys on my MIDI keyboard, the MIDI light on the JV lights up, but no sound comes out, although the other tracks that I had previously made still work fine. I try pushing the Volume button to preview the patch and it works, but when I play from my keyboard there's no sound.

In the manual it says to make sure that the "Rx switch parameter" is ON for that part, but no where in the manual does it say how to do that.

And let's say that I'm happy with the first couple tracks that DO work, how do I save this performance configuration? In SoundDiver I am clueless how to edit performances.

Is it possible to use Cakewalk to control my bank and patch information instead of saving the performance configuration with SoundDiver? I've been fiddling with Cakewalk and I'm able to change the patch but I don't see how to select banks.

I've been looking around the Net all day and haven't found any useful information on this subject. I've been fiddling with SoundDiver and I have no idea what I'm doing.

Are there any tutorials on this?

HELP!!

And another thing, how do you turn off the effects in "Perform" mode??

Sorry for asking too many questions!

Getting better

Well, after quite a bit of twiddling, I've basically figured out how to create and save a performance. But there are still a few things I don't get. The main thing is: how do you monitor while you're setting up a performance in SoundDiver? I've been using Cakewalk's virtual piano as a MIDI controller (until I go buy another pair of MIDI cables) and it only works while Cakewalk is running. This is a problem because I can't run Cakewalk and SoundDiver simultaneously.

Another thing: in the performance editor in SoundDiver, what does the "OUT/FX" parameter do? What is the difference between setting it to "MIX", "PATCH", "EFX", etc?
