And I have no idea how to plug in external effects units. Stupid noob question, but hey, I've never had to do it before. Help?

use the ins and outs. :D

no, seriously, your 1010 outs are the sends and the ins are the returns. does that help?

Well my Ins are straight into my pre's, and my outs go to my monitors.. so would I put the, say, eq unit between the In and the Pre?

your 1010 has 8 analog outs. use some of them as the effect sends. eq would be used as an insert effect (directly in the signal path). use it between the mic pre and 1010 input. if you're using something like a reverb or delay, use it as a send effect.

So you could Basicly Plug your Pre into the delta 1010 Input 1 and rout Input one out through Output 1 into your Effects Unit and then out from the effects unit into input 2 on the Detta 1010 and record Input 2......

So it goes Pre into delta input 1, Out from Delta output 1 into Effects unit, Out from effects unit into Delta input 2 and record......

Haveing used the Delta 44 you should understand the Routing Functions in the Delta controll panel....

Cheers
