I am just starting to record at home. I purchased a CD recorder and I'm using an ACER Karaoke system through a sony receiver. It sounds like I'm singing in a bathroom stall!!!!! what can I do to get rid of that?

Stop recording in the bathroom and move to your living room....

AND/OR

Turn off any of those godawful karaoke-machine effects...

should I get a seperate mike input than what is on the karaoke vcd player?

if i don't use that player, where can i get accompaniment tracks?

hey,

REcording on the computer is much more rewarding - trust me

If you do decide to do that - Fruityloops is a good program for making backing tracks (for sort of R+B stuff) .

If not - make them with instruments!!

or buy them from the shop.

Well that all depends.... what are you trying to record? Just your voice??

In all honesty, those Karaoke-type machines are complete garbage for the purposes of any recording.... for mucking around with friends at home, fine - but as a recording tool, forget it....

If you have a decent-enough computer you can use it to record with, or you can purchase "PortaStudios" that will be much more effective than a karaoke machine - especially the digital ones.
