Hello everyone.I was interested in knowing how to record something with a quality sound.For instance all the instruments I'll be using are acoustic.Bass,guitar,violin,etc.Is it possible to record something nice with what I have?Please bare with what I have.I have a Compac 1.0ghz processer w/128 mb.40gb.of hard drive.and thats it for my pc.Ijust purchased a diferent sound card package,The Hercules Game theater.will that work?then I also have a Mackie 1604 vlz mixer.w/ Peavey 2000 amp.and it all connects to my Sonic Foundry Vegas Audio 2.0.I've been trying to record but aint to happy the way everything sounds.All kinds of buzzing threw the speakers.Then I dont know how to hook up the system so 2 musicians can record at the same time.of course in diferent rooms.Please help me out someone.Tell me what I need so I can buy it.And is there any way some one can send a diagram or can you get that off the internet?Thank you.......

I just checked and my sound card does not have a line in.but my console where the pc connects to does have a line input.(Hercules Game Theater).The RCA jacks run from the game theater to the mackie mixer(brand new)The cables that I need ,where can I get them?The speakers i have are jbl speakers for the pc and sp2g peaveys.(15 in.)Ihave the old mics.the shure sm58.I hope this info is what you need to help me out.thanks a lot.

Can't help too much on the technical stuff, but you can get all the adapters and cables C7US was talking about at any "Major" music store, like....Daddy's Junky Music, Guitar Center, not sure where you live, or what's around by you but any really big Guitar/Music store will have them. Also, you can get these types of adapters/cabling at Radio Shack, they will probably be cheaper (in price), although I am not too sure of the quality, maybe someone else will jump in and comment on Radio Shack as a source. I buy all of mine at a music store, they have huge racks with just about every concievable adapter imaginable, and when you tell them what you are trying to do, someone there has usually already done it, and has a decent idea of what you are talking about trying to do.
